The HGV Category C+E licence, often known as the Class 1 licence, is the highest level of HGV driving available. Professional truck drivers who wish to maximise their income and climb the career ladder should consider this option.

At first glance, the road to becoming a LGV / HGV Driver can appear complicated and confusing. Here at Metcalfe’s Driver Training, we can explain the whole process effortlessly.

We can book and manage the whole process from the start; booking your medical and assisting with the D2 application forms for your provisional entitlement – or we can show you the cheapest way for you to do this yourself, saving yourself time and money. See our prices page to find out the HGV licence costs involved.

Check your Provisional Entitlement

Once DVLA have your application and all is in order they will send your drivers license back to you however it will look no different from when you origianlly sent it. You can check your provisional entitlement with this link below.

Before you take your practical driving test you must email the address below to get confirmation that you have had the correct provisional entitlements added to your licence. DVLA will send you an automated email response and you must take this to your driving test.
